I'm starting a couple of new bass builds for my Electric Guitar Construction class. One of these will go to a friend, the other I'll either keep or put up for sale.
The bodies of both basses are coming from a huge slab of 8/4 African Mahogany that I purchased with one of my classmates. This beautiful Macassar Ebony top from Oregon Wild Wood (http://www.oregonwildwood.com/) will grace Joel's bass. Needless to say, I'm pretty jealous!
The second bass will sport a matte black finish with a birdseye maple fingerboard and pickup covers - inspired by German luthier Jens Ritter.
